The second genre that we thought of was a crime drama, we all agreed that this genre was going to be better than the horror genre so we focused on this instead, we didn't come up with any more genre ideas after this because time was holding us back, so we decided to go more in depth with what the film would look like and how it would plan out.
(Brief summary of our genre brainstorm)
The group and I wanted to make an interrogation scene which started of with the interrogator walking towards a set of double doors and the camera rises up from the bushes, and then starts to track his movements. The interrogator would then walk down the stairs that are in his path, walk towards the doors and open them, making the needed "match on action" shot in our film. There may be some mood music in the back of the film, but that means finding music that we want that is not copyrighted, which may be hard, so we might have to do some research in to that nearer the time of the editing process.
This scene will then cut after he's walked through the door to a scene of the same man walking down the corridor, it will easily be traceable for the viewers as the scene will show the interrogator walking towards the left (where the corridor is) and will then cut. This scene would show the interrogators face as it probably wouldn't be seen beforehand, as the camera had always been behind him. the camera will be placed at the end of the corridor, and will also show the door to the left of his path in the shot to show his destination. The characters would be seen fully here, giving insight as to what the interrogator looks like. if there is no mood music, his footsteps would be clearly heard, if there is mood music, there will be editing so it makes the footsteps louder.
This scene will then cut to show the camera inside a brown paper bag (will probably be a grey-ish colour in the film since its black and white) with sheds of light shining through it. A heart beat is heard in the background, as well as heavy breathing. This is supposed to simulate the head of the person that is inside the plastic bag, so the viewers can see what that person who's head is inside the bag sees. The camera might jolt to the left and the right to simulate the person looking around in shock as they do not know what's going on.
The camera would then cut back to the interrogator after about 3 seconds, more zoomed in on the interrogators face, showing the stern look, emotionless. it would track the interrogators face as he walks, the head would probably bob a little bit from side to side to show the motion, and the background will move backwards, to show the movement of the interrogator towards the door. footsteps appear to be louder here, and the heartbeat from the previous scene is still present here.
Another match on action is seen here, the interrogator walk through the door to the interrogation room, where the person with the bag over his head is. The bag is lifted off the persons head and some dialogue is said from the same person. This is a shot, and then a reverse shot shows the interrogator saying something to that person. This uses the 180 degree rule that is seen in most dialogue scenes.
